Infrasafe was recently awarded the line painting renewal contract by Nexus for Gosforth Train Depot. The work was carried out under the Metro Reinvigoration programme and delivered to the highest standards to remove existing paint and renew line markings at Nexus Rail’s headquarters.

The brief was to transform the front entrance, areas outside and inside the depot and the train access stairs. More specific work included vital line renewal for areas around fire safety equipment and the painting of forklift floor signs and road numbers. Using a combination of traditional, thermoplastic and alternative abrasion resistant coating systems, each area inside and outside the depot was work specified according to its location, temperature and environment.

Additional repair and make good work was also carried out to tarmac and gullies. A full risk assessment and control measures were conducted to ensure a safe system of work throughout the project. Infrasafe’s line marking expertise and safety critical experience (using MIC trained personnel), combined with our excellent relationship with Nexus made this a highly successful project, delivered on time and above specification. The service extends to highways, car parks, airports, factories and sports grounds.
